The carrier bearing is at least available as a replacement so if you matched the U-Joint up you could re-use the shaft. You then pull it back out 1". Drive Shaft wont go back in. Maybe I'm not the one to be giving advice....... I'm sure there is a torque setting but I've never worried about it. Put a jack under the front of the torque tube to relieve the weight pressing the drive shaft down. I do appreciate the conversation and help.

You can remove the rest of the shaft without losing any fluids and make it easier to work on it. Ft-lbs of Torque on driveshaft bolts? I am currently in a similar situation. It came out so easily. If you rotate the shaft, there should be a couple slots in the rear CV where is meets the diff flange where you can slip in a screwdriver to pry them apart. Tostito was talking about pulling his diff, though. It was sandblasted to bare metal so I know no reweld or serious damage. For some reason--probably incident to age--I didn't have the torque tube in place in my mind. If you have a spare yoke laying around you could try tapping it in with a mallet to expand the bushing. The differential and spring are on blocks.
