Heather Wilds did a masterful job of bringing this world and these characters to life. Isolde de Lara considers her wedding day to be her death day. To be fair, they were being betrayed left, right and center. Wynter is the king of Wintercraig, who was betrayed by his fiancé and the Prince of Summerlea Falcon, who happens to also be the brother of our heroine, Khamsin aka Storm. He could literally feel himself growing more distant, more unfeeling, more like the dread, soulless monster of legend.

You might disagree (different strokes for different folks), but I think it looks like a cheesy, soap opera historical romance. Love did not just arrive, it was worked and fought for. Conveniently, I had been on the fence about whether to listen to another of Wilson's books but had held off because I dislike the narrator - that indecision has been resolved with a big NO. Do you have so little honor? I really wanted to enjoy this... By: Ilona Andrews, Jim Butcher, Shannon K Butcher, and others. She needs him to forget about that nonsense.
