In 2009, she choreographed and performed in a short film titled 'Swell Season', which screened at the Chicago International Film & Music Festival. Nicol is also the co-artist director at Raincity Theatre here in Vancouver. She went on to study with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, York University Dance Department in Toronto, and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York.
