The mystery plot is pretty compelling, especially as it ties into Hannah's past and what happened to her father. First of all, the predictability of the plot reminded me of Middle-Grade books. The tone is typical YA (she's 17). Isabel Sterling is an LGBTQ advocate and educator by day and a YA author by night. I might check out the sequel, just to see the repercussions of the events in this first book. I've been looking at that beginning for months and it made me so excited for when I would finally pick the book up.

Hannah is a really interesting character to read about: she's dedicated to helping people—which is especially hard when she has to conceal her witch identity—and she's also somehow both sweet and fierce. Without realizing it, I had internalized so many biphobic stereotypes that I couldn't see myself in that identity.
