I really enjoyed the different POVs and timelines and how they added so well to this amazing book! Fishing is one of the most time-consuming but rewarding professions in all of WoW. The first few chapters were a little hard to get into, especially with the time jumps but once I got into the story I found it easier too keep up with. Clara and Benjamin came to life on the page with their flaws, strengths, hopes and dreams. "The one that got away" as the title indicates, tells us the story of a girl and a boy who were in love but drifted apart. I tend to prefer cute stories without major TWs, but I can also appreciate a heavier narrative if I'm aware of where I'm getting myself into. Every Sunday from 14:00 – 16:00 server time, there is a realm-wide event which takes place in Stranglethorn Vale. Benjamin and Clara start dating in university and fall in love. We get a dual point of view, which I'm a major fan, and a multiple timeline. From what I read in the description for this novel – this was not what I was expecting. I found it very exciting to experience both sides of the story, because both protagonists were written from their point of view.

I love the present and past timelines and the anticipation of what happened to pull apart the main characters while trying to reunite them in present time. She is a chasm of need. I couldn't put it down from the day I started it and read it almost in one sitting. The book transpires across 2 decades with alternating perspectives from both. 7 stars (rounded up here) and read it pretty fast, notwithstanding my critiques.
